Have you ever been to an Aveda Salon?  I have, but honestly, it had been a while until I  met my friend Vicki, the manager at The Fairhope Salon and Spa.

Brushing up on my Aveda research, I found:

Aveda Mission StatementOur Mission at Aveda is to care for the world we live in, from the products we make to the ways in which we give back to society.  At Aveda, we strive to set an example for environmental leadership and responsibility, not just in the world of beauty, but around the world.

Sounds like they are determined to be a blessing to those they are around.

When you enter The Fairhope Salon and Spa, regardless of what type of service you seek, you will be pampered.  The Salon is visually appealing, the scent is soothing, and isn’t that just what we want when we treat ourselves?

Shortly after you walk in, you’ll be offered a chilled glass of a beverage of your choice, including Aveda’s Comforting Tea.  Whatever service you choose for your hair, you will receive a scalp and neck massage that will make you melt into the chair.  Honestly!!

If I’ve got you wanting to experience the spa treatment already, call them at 251-990-5015 and make your appointment.  I absolutely promise you, you will not be disappointed.

The Fairhope Salon & Spa is different from any other salon, and one of the ways they set themselves apart is by extensively training their employees.

In fact, their stylists, massage therapists, aestheticians and nail techs all receive up to date and cutting edge training on an ongoing basis, allowing them to stay current on best practices, and to ensure that their Guests have access to the most beneficial and creative solutions available.  You’ll feel very comfortable when you put yourself in their hands, knowing that they’ve got the best training available and that they care what you want.

Did you notice that Guest is capitalized?  When you are at the salon, you are absolutely the most important person there.  You’ll feel it, too.  I’m getting off track though, thinking about neck and scalp massages and the aesthetician who actually made my brow styling a pleasure…hmmmm…

Cruelty Free!!

One of the things I love about Aveda is their pledge to be cruelty-free.  I must tell you that as an animal lover, it is a relief to me to know that all of their products are cruelty free.  It brings me joy to know that no animals have been mistreated in the Aveda process.  I’d love for you to do further research on animal testing to really understand the value of cruelty-free cosmetics and products.  Even if you’re not an activist and you just love your dog, you will appreciate that some companies respect the animals you love.  :)

Let’s get back to what they offer.  Of course you can get the cut and style, but the products used will be cruelty free products that you can feel good about using.  You can get color and highlighting as well as permanent straightening with Aveda’s revolutionary, 100% formadehyde-free Smooth Infusions Retexturizing Treatment.

And of course there is their extensive array of my favorite items…Cruelty-Free cosmetics!

Further along the Cruelty Free line, The Fairhope Salon and Spa offers Air Feathers Cruelty Free Feather Extensions in a wide array of colors, from vibrant hues, to neutral tones, available under $20!  The feather blends subtly into your own hair. $15 for the first feather, and $5 for each additional feather. They can be washed, died, curled and even flat ironed!  Here’s a link to the Cruelty Free Air Feather Extensions they use.  I was amazed at the variety of feathers you can get and how they can be used!  Before you click the link, let me tell you how they get the feathers - they PET the birds long enough for a feather to come loose.  How awesome is that?

So we’ve talked about what you can get at the salon, but what does The Fairhope Salon do for our community?  That’s a weird question to be asking, isn’t it?  Of a business?
Aveda is dedicated to making the community in which they operate a better place, so let’s look at what The Fairhope Salon does for Fairhope.
According to Vicki, the manager, “As a local Aveda salon & spa, we participate annually in Aveda’s Earth Month fundraiser, as a grass roots way of contributing globally. Here at the Fairhope Salon, with the help of other generous local businesses and our amazing clients, we helped Aveda reach their 4 million dollar goal in 2019  Clean Water Projects though The Gulf Restoration Network and Global Greengrants.
The mission at The Fairhope Salon & Spa:
“To promote the joy, well being and beauty of our Guests by attending to their care, comfort and convenience.”
The spa offers massage, facials, manicures and pedicures, and they have a selection of Spa Day packages to suit most budgets.
The Fairhope Salon & Spa has become a top choice in Fairhope for Bridal Parties and special events including Mardi Gras.
The Fairhope Salon & Spa is very active during First Friday Artwalk, when they lay out a delicious spread, offer $1 a minute chair massage and relaxing scalp and neck massages, and have their Wheel of Fortune available for guests to spin and win prizes, simply for booking an appointment.
Tonight’s First Friday!  Go by and tell them you read about them here.  :)
