but it doesn’t mean that the giving has to stop. I hope the Challenge has you thinking about how you can be a blessing to someone else. I know I’ve been given so many opportunities this month and I have been blessed each time I’ve given of myself to others.
I know I haven’t been around here for a couple of weeks. I had to go out of town on very short notice for a few days, and I got behind on everything when I was gone. I teach on Wednesdays and Sundays, and I had to make sure I was prepared for those before I posted on the blog.
My GA class is starting a program that will directly benefit our food pantry. We are pet sitting! So if you are in Fairhope or Daphne and you are going out of town, get with me, and we will take care of your pets (no huge dogs, snakes, etc) for $2/day. You send the money to First Baptist Church, and mark it for the Food Pantry on behalf of First Petz.
The GA’s and myself got enough food together to fill a pantry for a needy family this Thanksgiving season.
I made a loaf of bread for my friend last week. She moved recently and left her breadmaker behind so I knew that would bring a smile to her face.
I found myself thinking a lot this month about what I could do to make someone else’s day. We’ve gone out for ice cream, made hot chocolate, and I’ve let the bedtimes slide a little this month…
I’ve had a good time and I have learned a lot about myself this month. I’ve also found out that the things we think are so small are HUGE to someone else, and that God uses us to help others when we make ourselves available to Him. Available means not being so BUSY all the time. I fight the busy thing every day. I’m always on the run! I do strive and hope for quiet down time though…maybe one day soon.
Anyhow, I’m looking forward to the 30-Day Challenge next year!
