BzzAgent Campaign Report - Cover Girl Blast-Thumbs DOWN!

I’m a member of Bzzagent.com, which is a really cool company that allows you to try products for free, and publicly review them.  They’re a great resource for companies to get the public’s impression of their products without releasing them to the masses.  I’ve been a member for many years, and I’ve received everything from a package of mints to a Sonicare Ultrasonic toothbrush.

I was invited this time to participate in the Cover Girl Blast campaign, and they sent me two items from Cover Girl’s Blast collection.  I’ve always been brutally honest with Bzz and the manufacturers regarding my opinion of the product, so even though I hate to do it, I have to say that I would  NOT buy these products.

I received a lip gloss which was supposed to be ultra-shine, you know, like soap star shiny?  Well, it wasn’t.  I could tell no difference between that and one of the many Nivea lip products I’ve gotten free recently with coupons.  Well, almost no difference — the Cover Girl product tasted a WHOLE lot worse.  YUCK.

The second product I received was a cream eyeshadow stick with a different color on each side.   I LOVED the colors.  I chose the citrus line, which meant I got a lime green shadow, along with a darker brown accent color.  I loved the combination going on, but within three hours after applying the makeup, I noticed it had caked up in the creases of my eyes.  Ugh.  Again, I would not buy this product.  EVER.

I hate to give a negative review, but hopefully Cover Girl will be able to work on these products a little further to make the concept work.  It’s a great idea - the double sided eyeshadow wand, but the shadow itself was junk.

Bottom line, when you’re using your BOGO Cover Girl coupons, stay away from the Blast line…you’ll regret it if you don’t.

YES to the crappy eye shadow! Great concept and easy to apply - but creases badly even if you use a separate primer! I wish your review had been available BEFORE I used my bogo coupons on it! But, oh well….

I also disliked the eye shadow. I thought the lip gloss smelled wonderful, but it was icky on my lips.
